Architecture of the Grands Cépages huts by Atelier Lavit

Twenty minutes from Avignon, in the heart of Provence the Lac de la Lionne extends at the foot of the vineyards of Châteauneuf‑du‑Pape. This is where Domaine Grands Cépages deploys 20 floating or stilt huts, real refuges for those who dream of a getaway along the water, in the calm of nature.

When design meets reeds

Imagined by Marco Lavit (Lavit Studio), the huts reinterpret the lake reeds : vertical wooden screens, more or less dense, filter light, wind and eyes. The architecture regains their momentum towards the sky, while streamlining it to create a graphic and light silhouette.

Three types of cabins for three different experiences

• Floating : placed on the water like a raft, they rock you to the rhythm of the waves.
• On stilts : lined up along the banks, they offer an intimate panorama of the vineyards and the Mediterranean panorama.
• Vegetated : nestled in the vegetation, they merge with the shore, for an even more discreet cocoon.

Each lodge has a protected terrace, a comfortable bathroom and, for the most part, a private heated Nordic bath that extends the moment of well-being.

Play of shade, light and water

During the day, the sun filters through the slats and projects moving patterns onto the floor. At dusk, the cabin is transformed: shrouded in a soft glow, it sparkles on the lake mirror Of the Lioness in poetic.

Sustainable construction

To limit the impact on this isolated site, each module has been prefabricated in the workshop, numbered and then reassembled on site in just three months: a choice that reduces trips, costs and nuisances.
